Biochemical product safety
The efficacy of biochemical is crucial in the control of pests, vectors of dangerous diseases, such as, for example, mosquitoes (Dengue, Chikungunya, West Nile) or rodents (Leptospirosis, Salmonellosis, Plague). The control of such pests is an achievement of the modern era, but it is also a difficult and continuous challenge for the improvement of efficacy and greater safety for humans and the environment. The foundation of Vebi that characterizes all the sectors in which it operates, is Research and Development, which is increasingly involved in forms of collaboration with universities, research centres, experimental laboratories, and partnerships with other companies. Given the type of products, Vebi is required to strictly comply with regulations in terms of product safety for people and the environment. The sustainable use of biocides embraces different concepts. A general principle, however, is to establish practices and initiatives that support the long-term efficacy of biocides, minimizing the risks to human health and to the environment deriving from their use. Vebi products are developed to ensure maximum safety for both qualified technical customers and final customers in the “home and garden” area, and are designed with the use of advanced technologies that comply with rigorous quality standards. To guarantee the levels of safety, as strictly specified in the Italian and international legislation, it is necessary to share and apply regulations for the preservation, handling, processing, and storage of products through a control system of the entire supply chain. The highlights of this process are the chemical management system, the quality and environment management system, a traceable supply chain and talking labels.
Cosmetic product safety
The products of the Vebi Beauty&Health line consist of active ingredients, additives, emulsifiers, and water. The company believes in the importance of research regarding raw materials, for this reason, the percentages of natural ingredients are stated in all products. The Vebi Regulatory Office – competence and value
The activity of the Vebi Regulatory Office responds to the objectives of the government bodies for protecting public health, overseeing the safety and efficacy of the products that the company makes and sells. At Vebi, every aspect concerning product safety and the regulatory principles behind it are managed by the Regulatory Office. Today, having an in-house Regulatory Office is a strategic tool to have safe products in different markets by product types and countries.
An in-house lab for innovation and safety
Vebi strongly believes in the importance of investments in research and development. An R&D department is found within the company, led by General Management as evidence of the sensitivity of the issue, and is dedicated to technological innovation and the development of new solutions. This is where the design of a new product finds its inspiration, also assisted by collaborations with the chemistry, pharmaceutical and biology departments of the Universities of Padua, Venice, Milan, and Bologna. In 2021, new projects will also start with the Universities of Florence and Rome. The guiding criterion is that the products be respectful of human health, with low environmental impact, and with the use of biocides aimed only at the targets.
